Chad Bates is a highly seasoned Mortgage Lender. He holds a B.B.A. in Management from Texas A&M University and has over 29 years experience in the Banking and Mortgage Banking industry. Formerly an Executive Officer for a major national banking firm, he started Legacy in 1989 and incorporated to exclusively focus on home loans in 1992. He has been honored numerous times in the past as a top 50 mortgage originator in the country and has spoken on a national level to other industry producers and achievers. He now focuses on mentoring originators within Legacy and building and managing the business affairs of Legacy - with a central focus on excellent client service and the importance of serving each client's particular needs.
Chad is very active in leadership positions in community affairs having served on over 30 Boards of community, church and industry organizations over the years including the Texas A&M Center for Entrepreneurship, Texas A&M Department of Management, the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, North Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Arlington Independent School District Education Foundation and the Dallas/Fort Worth Mortgage Broker's Association board to name a few.
In 2004, Chad was awarded the Fort Worth Star Telegram's Arlington Man of the Year Award for community service and dedication to youth. He was also awarded the PTA's Life Member Award for his service to youth and schools.

About Joy Bates
Joy Bates holds a B.B.A. in Business from the University of Texas at Arlington and is an Alpha Chi Omega sorority alumnus. Her business background includes consulting for and managing physician groups, 20 years as a child care owner and director and 16 years in the mortgage banking business. During her tenure with Legacy, Joy has served as Controller, Director of Human Resources and most recently as Director of Plan Administration with LegacyCare™. She was also awarded the P.T.A.'s Texas Life Member Award for outstanding service to youth.
Chad and Joy are the proud parents of three wonderful young adults and enjoy cooking, watching sports, traveling and boating in their spare time.
